Special Day Tomorrow (Stay Tuned)
Today we went over to the new house for the final walk through. I was reassured to be there, to feel that I still really really like the house and that is will work for our family. We've been dealing with the financial side of things for the past three weeks, and haven't been back to the house, and that was making me nervous... ie. do we really want to spend this much money on this house for a family of four (and we are only 2 right now)???!!!??

There are some decorating things I would like to change, but nothing is so horrible that we can't live with it for a while as we settle in and ration our spending. One strange thing is that the carpet is all light brown, the tile is beige, most of the walls are either light brown or dark brown. The only color is a burnt orange in the kitchen/family room. I'm not a huge bright color person, but the house is just too bland right now. Added to our limited amount of furniture, this house will look bare! I will post some pics of the move, and the house as I get more organized on my blog.

Tomorrow I have another full day of work, and then head out to a happy hour for my old boss who is leaving the company after 16 years and may be relocating to a far away land. I'm happy for him and his family, but it will be sad to see him go. Sort of an "end of an era" thing, as he was the one who got me to move from Madison WI to gorgeous San Diego 18 months ago!

Special Day Tomorrow? Well, I hope you'll catch up with me then and I'll open another window to my world.

I'm looking forward to pictures, too. And a little paint will do wonders to break up the beige. I love redecorating and painting... have fun with it!

Congrats on the new house! That is exciting. And, thanks for posting on our site...funny thing, I didnt see the photo right away with the post, so I thought it was my husband's Aunt Tricia :)

Tricia,
Congrats on the house. When we bought ours it looked like 1982 threw up in it. With better color on the walls it now looks like Elle's technicolor dream house! Of course you have to ignore the big water damage spot on the floor in the dining room.

Decorating and painting is 1/2 the fun of owning your own home. Just think now that you own your house you can feel like you are moving forward with the adoption!

It is so fun to move into your new house. We finally were able to afford a house in So Cal and I remember the calm feeling we had being in our own home. Congratulations!!
