DOTW - Kora

Here's the new addition to DOTW - meet Kora. She's a 6-7 hound mix and loves going for walks (the hound in her loves to sniff everything) and is great at giving hugs. She's only 36 pounds so not too small but not too big either. She's a favorite around the humane society because she loves being around people and will definitely let you know it! When I was out walking her last week, a man stopped his car and started asking about her but ended up considering Babette because of her age. That makes me sad, because Kora still has lots of good years in her, she's such an affectionate dog, and she definitely doesn't act like an old dog.

As for the other DOTW's: Babette is still available, but wasn't able to go out for walks this week as she was neutered!!! That could be why she's also still at the humane society. She wasn't looking too pleased everytime I walked by her cage, but I'm sure once she is feeling better that smile will come back. Brandy is also still available unfortunately. Well fortunately for me because we were able to go for another long walk, and spend more bonding time together. We did have some trouble though. As I was leaving her cage, she jumped past me and all I could do is grab for her collar. In very acrobatic form, she jumped out of her collar and made a run for the side door. There was a kennel worker on the other side of the hallway who was able to catch her, but wow was Brandy ready to make her getaway. I am thinking that if she is still around at Easter time, I will see if the humane society will let her go out on a field trip since they will be closed on Easter Sunday. She's been there long enough and I'm sure she's getting a little crazy.

I drove past our local humane society the other day and almost stopped in. I couldn't believe it. I am soooo not a dog person. I told D of my little thought and he didn't pitch a fit. It was almost as if he wouldn't have minded if I came home with a dog. Although I am sure the cats would have something to say about it.

Kora is so cute. There's just so many dogs that need homes.
