This has been a really long week... I'm sorry I haven't been posting much but I barely get through reading about everyone in Russia (sooo awesome) that it's hard to generate some creative juices at the end to talk about my rather mundane existence (ie. no adoption news).1. Work has been a bear this week. We are finalizing marketing plans and all of the marketing leads have a huge spreadsheet to complete. I am the holder of the spreadsheet for our group. I helped develop the crazy thing. I've been training other people on how to use it. I barely have time to do my own work with the darn thing. Long live excel!!! I get to upgrade to XP next week so I get Excel 2003 and "full functionality". Whoopee!2. Michael is working on some business back in Chicago that's very stressful. And it's stressing me out too. Between the two of us we are falling asleep on the couch at 10PM, waking up at 3AM and really not getting a good night sleep. This happened 2 or 3 times this week.3. Heather came into town from Madison and we were able to meet up for sushi last night. She was here because of a work conference. We used to work together - actually she hired me into my first position in Madison when I was moving back from the UK. It was a fun time. Sushi is a MUST if you live in Southern CA. We talked alot about starting our families, the adoption process, etc. I will be giving her links to some of your blogs so she can see what all of the fuss (good & bad) is about.4. This weekend is packed! Michael goes to Tijuana once per month, and this weekend is the weekend. He'll spend Saturday working on a Red Cross project down there. This is my monthly free day for shopping / lounging. I also have my golf class with my sister at 9AM Saturday morning, which is turning into being a really fun activity. We went to the driving range on Wednesday night to practice. Swinging a stick at a small ball is a good stress reliever (something we all could use!).5. Sunday we have three activities: Brat & Beer Fest at the local community center. I'm from Wisconsin, so we HAVE to go to that. Then I will go to "foster care training" at the humane society so I am certified to foster baby cats/dogs. Not sure if I should do this due to my animal obsession, but I need an outlet for some of this craziness. Then we are planning to see the La Jolla choir at the Catholic Church we have been test-driving.My friend Shalisa and her 3-month old baby girl Clara are coming on Tuesday for five days to celebrate her "end of maternity leave". This means more girl bonding time - wine bars, shoe shopping and pizza.Oh, and there was a Louie sighting. Apparently two days after we took him in... he was out in our front yard again, sniffing around without his collar. Michael hung out with him for a while and then told him to go home.
