My First Tag
I'm honored. I've been tagged by one of my favorite blog friends, Margaret. I am supposed to list "six weird things about me".

1. I was junior class secretary and involved with the junior prom planning. This was ironic because I was "punk rock" and did not think prom was cool. My senior boyfriend at the time was not "into prom" either (the girl he went with the previous year only went out with him so she could go to prom), so I assumed we wouldn't be going. I find out about a month before my prom that he agreed to go to prom with a girl from another school (to her prom at her school as "friends", yeah right). I found this out when my friends saw him trying on tuxes one Saturday afternoon. We broke up - he told the other girl he couldn't go - and he got me back after playing an awesome trumpet solo ("for me") during a jazz band thing at the school cafeteria. We went to prom together. I wore a peach prom dress. We broke up three months later before I went to England on an orchestra trip and he went to college. Wait, who's the weird one here? (I was thinking me - the peach prom dress was AWFUL.)

2. I grew up eating some weird things like "scrambled eggs with hot dogs & canned mushrooms" and "baked beans, pineapple & bacon on toast".

3. I don't have a mother or a father anymore. My father passed away 3.5 years ago. My mother divorced herself from my sister and I when she got divorced from my father in the late 90s.

4. Most of my childhood crushes were on gay men (which I didn't know at the time, amazing as it sounds now when listing these names). These men included: George Michael, Boy George, Morrissey, and two guys who went to my middle/high school.

5. I met my husband on Yahoo Messenger.

6. I waited 18 hours -overnight- to get tickets to the New Kids on the Block when I was in college (only 5-10 years older than the median age of every other person in line). I think I was the only one there without their parent. I got great seats, but the concert was later cancelled. (And this wasn't my first New Kids concert.)

Ok, this was too easy. I could go on for another 15-20 entries without haven't to think.

Your high school soap opera life sounds similiar to mine. Glad it is over.

I have to admit gay guys are almost always very cute. We had a couple come to one of our open houses when we were selling our home. It just makes me sad for all of those girls who are missing out.
