It's August 10th. We are one week away from sending in our application to begin this whole process. I can't believe the year has gone by so quickly. Are we ready? (I think so) Am I nervous? (You bet) Will I take all of the valuable information you have shared with me and put it to good use? (That's the plan)
I think I can officially start posting list after list of things I need to do.
I really hope this all works out.
So with the starting of our adventure, I was going through previous posts and updating some things on my blog. I noticed that I first introduced you to Babette on March 20th. She was adopted out sometime in May but came back to the shelter around June. Can you believe she's still there? I'm really feeling bad for that little dog. Fortunately, she gets a field trip every Friday night and gets to stay over at someone's house and practice the tricks she learned at obedience school. I sure hope she finds a home soon.
But this blog is about our girls, and along with Babette's story, I can't help but think that our daughters are probably already in the orphanage and don't know that we are doing all of this crazy stuff to find them. I just hope we can get them home soon.
And poor Babette. How sad she must be to not be in someone's home.
I couldn't do that job. I would want to take them all home. I would end up on the news as the crazy lady with all of the pets.
The agency we are going with is waiting for NGO and re-accrediation. We will work with them for both the homestudy and placement aspects. So my plan is to get the homestudy underway, file the I600 stuff, and hopefully by the time we need to indicate the agency we are using... they'll be ready. If not, we'll select an agency that is. I'm hoping that this will also give us a whole year to get the adoption completed, and not have to deal with accrediation next Fall (fingers crossed).
