Yes, the
Russian adoption update since that is really the topic of this blog.
1. We have purchased our furniture, except for the family room sectional. With our new dog addition we decided to get something a bit more rugged. Hopefully we can finalize our new selection this week. We are hoping to have furniture by January.
2. Reference letters have gone out.
3. Our homestudy medicals & TB tests were done on Friday.
4. This week we are focusing on our employment letters & health insurance verification.
Since we are aiming to get to Russia next summer we are taking the homestudy requirements slow. It's nice to not feel rushed. I'd like to get our first homestudy visit done in November, along with our I-600A and fingerprints. My goal is to have our homestudy & I-171 complete around February.
It's good to be back posting... I've been keeping up with everyone but just too exhausted to write myself. Thanks M for the prod.
Taking it slow with the adoption is good. Sounds like you have a plan.
I think it's great that you aren't rushed with the adoption paperwork and so forth. Now you can just store up your stress for later! :-)
I can't help you with any of the homestudy stuff, but I can say it's good you are doing it with A-O! =) (See my latest blog entry... our HS agency is on the *%#@ list in Russia.) Are they letting you work on the dossier paperwork at the same time you are completing the HS? (I had to have the HS all done before we could start the dossier... but different agencies.) Good luck with it all. Michelle at A-O is a saint!
Looks like you have been having a lot of fun with your dog. You are always doing fun things!
