Homestudy Update
The last of three homestudy appointments were just completed - my 1:1 with the social worker and the home inspection. The appointment was just over an hour and everything went smoothly. She loved the house and backyard.

She asked me to describe my upbringing and experiences from childhood through college. We also discussed what my parents were like, and my relationships were with them now. It was more like a free flowing conversation and discussion. It was very comfortable - just like everyone has said there's no need to worry about this step!

We also talked about referrals - ages, sex, siblings or not siblings. She is probably going to put us down for three (just in case that trio of siblings comes along) between 2-6 years old. We just have a few more pieces of paperwork (one reference letter, guardianship letter, financial documents), so we are looking to have the report done just before Christmas or the first week of January.

ps. Thani was great! He walked around with us during the home inspection, and then slept on the sofa next to me during our discussion. Yoshi stayed upstairs - sleeping on the bed. So now I know what really goes on when I'm at work!

That is so great that you are moving along nicely. I can't wait to read about your referral once it comes - it's nice to follow a journey from the very beginning!
