Hola from Isla Mujeres
It´s been two years, but we are back on Isla Mujeres in Mexico on vacation with friends. We didn´t go last year for a couple of reasons: (1) our good friend L wasn´t able to go and (2) we were just buying our new home. It´s nice to be here. We are staying at a place on the beach (here) which is just steps from the main street with the shops and restaurants. This morning we are doing the internet cafe thing, and we´ll probably spend the afternoon on the beach. Tonight we have L´s birthday celebration.

It was a little bit harder leaving home this time. Yoshi is staying at home - my sister is coming over the weekend to check in on her. Thani is staying at an off-leash daycare and overnight resort (here). We checked it out a couple of weeks ago. During the day he has about 15-20 dogs to run around and play with. This week he´ll have six or so buddies staying overnight with him. I hope he has a good time. We called from Houston airport, and Thani had just gone with Lani to feed the resident tortoise and thought he (she?) was pretty cool.

Before we left for Isla Mujeres we received our draft homestudy report. We have to review it and send back any minor corrections we have. Our social worker will finalize the report, and then send it back to us. We will then drive it down to the INS office in San Diego (Tuesdays they accept ¨walk-ins¨) and if all the planets are aligned (aka our fingerprints are in), we´ll be able to walk away with our I-171H!

Hope everyone is doing well!

Enjoy your vacation! I am so jealous because it is absolutely FREEZING here. Glad you are moving along in the adoption process. It won't be long until your posting from a foreign country for a very different reason!

Wow! Looks fabulous! Hope you have a great time! Don't worry about your babies, I am sure they are having a great time as well. :) Dogs love to play with other dogs and I am sure Yoshi is enjoying having the place to herself for a little bit! Soak up the sun- lots of snow here!
