My real job is all about developing and executing marketing campaigns. As part of the campaign strategy, we always need to establish how we will measure the success of our individual activities. One thing we love to see is increased traffic to our webpages and how well our products are featured when a researcher "googles" a specific keyword.
The google terms which lead people to this blog usually are searches around "russian adoption", "russian referral wait time", and "russia accrediation". There are ALOT of people who are wondering these things right now. I also get a fair number of hits from people who are googling "rhodesian ridgeback" or "birdie bed" (from my posts last summer... when we were trying to decide whether to get the chez moi collection or birdie bed from p0ttery barn).
I also love to look at the statistics on the site meters. It's neat to see some demographics - whether it's by location or referral from another (usually) russian adoption blog. I'm really amazed how far this blog reaches... how sometimes I'm on the blogroll of a site I didn't even know about. I think that's cool... Lately I have found a few new interesting blogs this way.
But going back to google searches. My absolute favorite search term(s) was "whipped cream, russian girls". And guess what they got when they clicked through? My recipe for strawberry shortcake from last spring. Gosh I bet they were disappointed.
What have been some of your favorite search terms which landed people on your blog?
Currently, my stats show these strange ones on my knitting blog:
please what lions eat in
swap eve isk for wow gold
what does periwinkle eat and how does it eat?
"my parents are cousins I am a dwarf"
Google.au
I so rock because I wrote about the fact that I thought my cousin was good looking!
