Over the last week we have made alot of progress on our paperwork. Our self-imposed deadline to have everything to our agency is Easter. I think we'll make it.
This weekend I filled in all of the miscellaneous forms mentioned in a previous post. Our dossier photos are almost done (still need to mock up another children's room... we only have one decorated until we find out who are referrals are...). M and I got our Child Abuse form letters notarized and those will go into the mail tomorrow. We also got our passport photos taken for our Russian Visas. My employment verification letter will be notarized tomorrow. We have our medical and psychologist exams the last week of March. The only things left are the Good Conduct letters, and our certified marriage certificates. On the request form I sent in three weeks ago, it said to expect 30-45 day processing time. Last time I did this it was one week; and when I checked the State of Nevada website, it also stated a one week turnaround. So I am going to call on Tuesday if we don't receive them on Monday to make sure that they received my request. Once I receive them (6 originals), I need to send them back to Nevada to get them apostilled for $20 each (another one week turnaround). I think that's the paperwork we will be waiting on.
Over the weekend I did some shopping with my sister Kristin and I have a new set of dishes/placemats/napkins that match our new decor (pic above). I also bought a turquoise/brown set of placements/napkins to mix things up. (Hint - big sale going on right now at Pier 1.)
Kristin is coming over tonight for the big St. Patrick's Day meal. A day late but on the menu is the traditional corned beef, cabbage, red potatoes, carrots, and homemade rye rolls. Maybe I'll post that recipe tomorrow.
Happy St. Patrick's Day... and have a great week!!!
It looks great!
You will always be a part of the original Russian blogger group and I look forward to seeing you through to bringing your children home!
Good job on the paperwork - sounds like you are moving right along. And by the way, thank you for making it sound simple. Sometimes I get a little stressed hearing everyone's stories about things going wrong....
Glad to hear you're winding down the first round of paperwork. Easter sounds like a good deadline.
