Keeping Busy

This past week I was in Los Angeles for a cancer research meeting. I work for a biotech company which discovers technologies and products used by academic and pharmaceutical researchers. It was great to see people I have worked with over the years (especially the girls from Madison) and my research colleagues from graduate school. Pictured above is my master's thesis advisor from the University of Manchester, and a graduate student (now post-doc) from my old lab. I only wear dorky red button down shirts when I need to work at events like this.
At the beginning of April, my Aunt and Uncle (my father's sister) came to visit us from Indiana. This was their first out-of-state vacation in seven years! We had a nice time showing them around our beach cities and having dinner with them in the evenings. I hope they will be back again soon!

Great to see you had fun with Steve and Tam. It takes quite a bit to get them to leave the lake...even with cute grandchildren! :) We are hoping to drag at least Tam out with us next year! I am excited already!

We've been blogged! Now we really feel special! Uncle Steve and I had a stunning Pacific Coast visit--fine dining and accommodations in your guest room, healthy fresh ocean air, and updates on our nieces' lives--in the flesh. Thanks again. Love, Uncle Steve and Aunt Tam
