100% Summer Weekend
This has been the weekend I've been wanting (needing) for a while. I left work early on Friday so we could attend the first "Jazz in the Park" of the season. Every Friday night, from now until the end of August, one of four parks in our area hosts jazz band from 4-6PM. Besides the good music, it's really an excuse for everyone to get their picnic baskets filled with yummy food, grab a few bottles of wine, and relax while the kids run wild in the park with their friends. We were fortunate enough to meet Lisa and Mike for the first time, our neighbors who just completed an adoption of two older children from Russia. We look forward to seeing them again soon! Maybe next week?

Saturday, I participated in some good old fashioned retail therapy while Michael was working on a Rotary International building project in Mexico. Since loosing ten pounds since MommyWeight (and Thani), I needed some new summertime trousers for work and fun. Somehow six **edited to eight** tops & three sweaters made it through the checkout as well.

Today was just a lazy day at the beach. Yes, life can be rough in California - just not this weekend! To top it off, tonight I'm actually going to cook... roast cod with crisp potatoes (Real Simple May 2006 recipe) with rhubarb & strawberry pie for dessert. In honor of Elle's birthday... even though it has strawberries.

I'm SO jealous of the shopping! Funny how six, turns to eight, turns to twelve....

I'm making strawberry rhubarb for dessert tonight, too. :) Yum!

I'm jealous.

My weekend was much less exciting. The weather was a little overcast, so instead of sun and swim, I went on a cleaning and organizing rampage. My bedroom and closet are now clean, and the laundry is all done, so it seems like I have more things to wear....

...your weekend still sounds better. Plus you lost 10 pounds. Yep, I'm jealous.

I want to move to Cal and have a lazy beach day and go shopping and have a picnic to Jazz music too! Sounds fun!

I have lost 20 lbs and need to lose 30 more. Hopefully by the time I come to Cal next summer I will be at my goal! Your new digs look great- can't wait to shop for skinny Melinda clothes again!
