Today my father would have been 62! Wow, that's so weird to say. He is still very much part of our lives. As you know, one of my summer projects is working on the family "geneology". One aspect is getting all of the old photos organized so we can make make photo albums for the rest of the family. My sister is covering 1972 - 1992; I have everything before 1972.
The top photo is from my father's 5th birthday party. My dad's sister Tam (a Room to Grow reader) can be spotted in pictures 2, 3, 4 and 6. (She's the youngest one, of course!)
The middle photo is from my father's 7th birthday party. Great grandma Mary, from Kaunas, Lithuania can be spotted in the top two pictures. She married Great grandpa Thomas from the Ukraine. They came to the USA in the early 1900s. One key reason for adoption from Russia!
The bottom photo is from 1974, a day before my father's 30th birthday. As a young family we went to the zoo alot... which is probably why I love animals so much.
Tonight we are going to my sister's house for dinner and (family-recipe) chocolate cake.
This blog is going to be so much more fun now that I know how to scan photos.
I think it's wonderful you and your sister are working on tracing your geneology. My aunt traced my grandpa's family back for several generations -- she even pinpointed where our family's castle was in Ireland. (I say was because it's in ruins today -- a few big foundation stones left, but that's all.)
But, your dad is adorable and I have actually been curious about pics of Tammy b/c I wondered if Lilly looks like her a little. We will see. Hope your dinner with K was nice, is she doing well? Tell her Hi from us and we should talk soon.
