Tuesday night we went out on the 'AMERICA' with the San Diego Rotary Club. It's a 139 Ft yacht, originally built in 1851, destroyed in 1945 and rebuilt in 1995. It was a warm, sunny San Diego evening and we had great views of the city and Coronado.
Wednesday night we had a quiet evening at home since I had to go
here for work all day. ....ding ding ding ding ding....
Thursday evening we finally got to meet "The Huggables" aka Alexandra and Samantha. They are twin girls who just turned three, who just returned home from Ekat with their parents Tim and Elizabeth last Friday. We met these Tim and e about a year ago, and have become great friends through the adoption process. They went to Ekat in January for their first trip; and had to wait five and a half months for a court date. After the 10-day waiting period, they were able to pick up the girls.
As you can see.... they are absolutely adorable....

...and they are so smart and fun. We loved their cute Russian accents when prompted to share their first english words (with a thumbs up sign): "Okey dokey".
On the adoption front - still no news for us. But we have heard about many other referrals becoming available. Funny thing is that they are all for younger children (and many boys)! During the paperwork process we were told we should receive referrals very quickly because we were asking for older children - and now that doesn't seem to be the case! That said, we are hopeful that we will have referrals in the next month or so.
I hope you get a referral for your own little huggables soon.
Good to see and hear you relaxing. I think my mind and soul are almost ready for a new school year, but the body still needs some building.
Love, Aunt Tam
can't wait for you to get your referral....
Aren't T&E's girls just beautiful! I'm so glad they're home and adjusting well. We just completed the embassy process yesterday and are spending another rainy day in Moscow. Home on Tuesday.
