It's September! We've been waiting for this month since May. We are hoping to hear news of our referrals this month. When we do, we'll probably have 2 to 4 weeks notice to travel to Russia to meet the girls. The trip will take about one week. Hopefully this will happen at the end of September or October.

Then we'll come back home, and depending on the region the girls are from, we'll wait another 1 to 3 months to go back to Russia. On trip #2, we'll go to court and complete all of the necessary embassy paperwork in Moscow. This trip normally lasts 2 to 3 weeks, since there is a 10-day waiting period (in most regions) following court. We are still hopeful we can get this all in before the end of 2007, but we will see what September brings... Stay tuned!

In the meantime, here's a quick slideshow of what we've been up to the last 4.5 years!

You've traveled a lot! I'm a tad jealous. Other than the jealousy it inspired (jk) the slideshow was great.

I hope it all works for you just as you wrote it down, Tricia. I've got my fingers crossed that the right referral comes along soon.

We are wishing you all the best luck with your refferals hopefully coming this month. Leave your heart open and also prepare your heart for a whirlwind of emotions that I am sure are to come in the next few months! Wish you could have been at Tam's this past weekend, we miss you and love you!

Oh,yippe, you may get to go pick up the kids in the dead of winter like my daughter (FourFeetMore) did. It was quite the Dr. Zhivago experience. Good luck!

Hoping that referral comes along soon. I loved the photos. It reminded me of how lucky we all have been with travel, family, friends and good times. We haven't met yet but with T & E I'm sure we will. Is there something special about the Isle of Muertes (sp)?

Guess what? Tim and I were in St. Thomas at the end of February 2004! Isn't that wild? Let's plan our first "Beaches" vacation with the kids (which will be in about five years after we've saved up some money again).

Your Russian girls have much to look forward to. They're out there; it's a matter of time now.

The slideshow reminded me of old time movies--got piano music? I'm not that old, but I've seen relics!

Wow. You both have lived such a full life together already! Adding the girls into the mix will make it even fuller. :)

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that your referral is from Murmansk - it was such a great region, and there is only 1 month wait between trips! Plus, it would be cool if our kids came from the same baby home.
