We've had another busy week. Here's a picture from last Sunday of T & e's girls (just home last month from Russia) opening some presents for their 3rd birthday. They are doing wonderful and it's so inspiring to see them happy and laughing and playing (and loving their new parents).

Yesterday we met up with a local adoption meet-up group for breakfast. Even though the group was set-up for families adopting domestic or international, everyone who showed up was connected with Russian adoption. There were three families who had adopted in the last 1-2 years (all the children were 3 and under), one waiting for Russia (yes, us) and another family thinking about adopting child #2 from Russia. Needless to say there was alot of story telling and cute toddlers running around. I'm glad we found this group for future advice and playdates!

Following our breakfast we went down to La Jolla for a couple hours of kayaking with our friends Marisa and Tom. I've never been kayaking before, but we had a great time and got to see lovely views of the La Jolla shoreline and also, some leopard sharks cruising around in the water below us. Apparently they do not bite but I stayed in my kayak.

And today we had a lazy day at the beach to deal with the exceptionally warm Labor Day weekend we are having in San Diego. Hope everyone is enjoying their long weekend!

Sounds like fun. The pics are beautiful of your home. I'm assuming the girls are twins.

Sounds like a nice weekend. I'm hoping you're not in the waiting pool much longer. It's your turn now!!!

p.s. Staying in the kayak? Good idea.

Why aren't those the cutest, smartest little girls you've ever seen (second only, of course, to the ones waiting for you in Russia right now);-)? Tricia, thanks for being Designated Mom at the party. Everyone agreed that you are a natural! I wish you had posted the photo of you with Sammi and Sasha. It's so sweet. September is YOUR month; we can feel it. Bring on the play dates!
