Wow, can you believe this news? It's Sunday night and I'm wondering if Friday was just a dream.
Tomorrow's agenda includes:
1. Driving our passports down to our agency (only 30 miles away).
2. Hopefully confirming our visa situation will be OK and we are still good to go for Oct 1.
3. Frantic search for good airline tickets to Moscow. We are lucky that we live so close to LAX. We may fly direct on Aeroflot (least expensive and most efficient) or go via Frankfurt on Lufthansa. Right now it looks like we can get flights for $1200-$1600 but these are "non-refundable" tickets ($150 change fee). I am also going to contact Northwest about their adoption fares that allow changes.
4. Hopefully get a reply to my emails to Dr. Khouloudis or Dr. Galkina. We would like to have a medical doctor travel with us to NN. I'm also trying to track down Dr. Ageeva. The email I have for her bounced back. I've put a call out on the Yahoo Russian Adoption message board.
5. Oh, and tell work that I can't make my business trip to Boston and Chicago and back to our semi-annual global sales meeting in CA next Friday. Everyone knows that we've been waiting so it won't be a big deal but it's still hard to drop everything at work. (Well, not really!)
It's so nice to finally have something "on topic" to blog about. I still want to write more about how we heard about the referrals and why we are ready to travel with hardly any information, pictures, etc. but I'm exhausted and tomorrow is a big day. Thanks for your gracious support and well wishes. It really means alot!
I can't wait to hear about your referrals.
I also sent you Dr. Lada Ageeva's contact information. If you have any trouble with it call me.
Ronda
I can't wait to hear the story!!
