9:30AM. South view from our front balcony. Two large wildfires started yesterday and with the Santa Ana winds the fire has rapidly progressed overnight. New fires are starting all the time. The fire has jumped I-15 (major north/south road).

They are evacuating just south of us, from I-15 to I-5. This area is known as Rancho Santa Fe - very very expensive homes. There are also fires just north of us, near San Marcos and San Elijo. Kristin's boyfriend Tor, his daughter Nadia, and their two cats live up there and they are safe.

Everyone is supposed to keep off the roads and cell phones. My HR department asked everyone to stay home. We have gathered the essentials and are waiting for further news. I'll be on Yahoo IM and email if you need to reach me.

I hope everything is alright over there for you. I hope you don't need to evacuate.

That view you have is both incredible and a bit leery.

Good luck!
