All fire and city officials, along with the media, report that things are under control in our area. We are located on the border for 1147 and 1148 (green & purple squares just to the left of the red fire border) on this map. There are still many dangerous areas and the fires continue to burn in some of the most beautiful areas of SoCal. It's really sad and scary.

As Steve mentioned in one of his comments, he saw on the national news reports that the community is really come together. That's so true. Reports from the evacuation centers is that they are not accepting any more donations because they have enough food, water, clothes and bedding. And enough volunteers. We've been offered many places to stay by our co-workers, message board friends (adoption and dog-related) and even strangers in the shopping mall parking lot we went to last night for emergency evacuation.

Let's hope the winds stay quiet tonight.

Yes, how have the animals held up through all of this? Are they best of friends yet? Was your church effected? It was in El Rancho right? Hope you are well and so glad you are safe. We will see you soon!

Praise God for that! I'm in central Ca and our only threat is the smog that is blown into the valley.
