And the paperwork continues.... Here's the list from our dossier coordinator:

post placement commitment- 1 original
registration commitment- 1 original
psychological evaluation- 1 newly dated letter for each parent (this region says that the letters are only good for 3 months)
1 notarized and apostilled photocopy of your doctor’s new license
1 notarized and apostilled photocopy of the psychologist’s license

The best way to ensure that you have court in January is to submit all documents ASAP. If I have the documents in my hands by December 12th, I can be sure to have them to Russia by the time your coordinator meets with the judge on 12/20. If your coordinator has all the documents on 12/20, the judge will give her a court date for you. If we do not have updated licenses, we would have to wait until after the Russian orthodox holidays to get your court date (after January 13th).

The hitch. Our doctor's and psychologist's licenses expire 12/31/2007. Russia wants the new versions. We are waiting to hear from both whether they have applied and received their new licenses.

OF course they do. For what little comfort it's worth this is a very short list even if it doesn't look like it. Here's to new licenses.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you can get your paperwork together quickly! It doesn't sound like you have too much to do. Some good paperwork vibes coming your way -- I mailed my BCIS re-application yesterday... yay!

Wow, it sounds like things are really moving well. I hope that you get all of your documents quickly so you can bring that girl home. I know you just got back, but I hope that you have to leave again very soon.

Oh my, we went through that too. Our court date was July 4 and their licenses expired June 30. Sometimes it takes some time for the docs to receive their license after they are approved. Therefore, we had to get our docs to give permission to the boards to give us a copy of the license approval so we could get our kids and keep our court date. We got them two days before our flight for trip two. Just a heads up on avenues to take to make sure you get them on time. I'm sure it will all work out! Good luck!

Our agency license expired and in Michigan the state always provides a letter saying everything is great - but the paper license only comes several months later (same with teacher's licenses, with which I was already familiar). Well, Russia WOULD NOT under any circumstances take any sort of letter; they demanded the license. So frustrating. But each of my adoptions took 9 months, so I figure it was all meant to be.....
