Here's the scoop on Trip #2:
We will leave home ~1/27 and arrive in Moscow 1/28. We'll complete our medical examinations on Tuesday, and later that evening take the night train to VL. On Wednesday we will spend the day with M. There will be a social worker observing us during this time. Thursday is our court date in the capital city which we've heard is anywhere from 3-5 hours away by car from the orphanage. The social worker from the day before will be there, along with the city inspector we met on Trip #1, and the orphanage director.
After court (we will ask to waive the 10-day waiting period but this rarely happens in this region) we have the option to travel back to Moscow later that evening, and go home on Friday but we will probably stay through the 10-day waiting period. We are waiting to hear if we can visit with M during the 10 day wait; and we may decide to travel to St. Petersburg for a few days for sightseeing since we are so close.
We do have ONE MORE THING to do for the judge. We need to take pictures of our bathrooms, hallways and stairways and send them by email to Moscow by Wednesday. We also have to get our latest round of bloodwork notarized and apostilled so we avoid having to do this in Russia for our medical exams.
I'm just so glad that it is on the books and that you know a date. She'll be home before you know it!
Merry Christmas!
