Thani and I went on one our weekend hikes this morning and 3/4 of the way through I realized that this was our first real hike since Trip #1 and meeting M. Our adoption was always top of mind during these walks... I would think about what we needed to do for paperwork, what it would be like to get our referral, what it would be like to travel, what it would be like during trip #2, thinking about being home with our children....
And although things took longer, and we are adopting one child (a little bit older) instead of two - I can't imagine it any different. M is perfect for us and our adoption experience for the last six weeks has been wonderful.
Here's our tree this year. My colors are blue and silver. I finally got the ornaments on the tree last evening. We think it's our best tree yet!

Here's the view of our family room from the kitchen table. Kristin prepared a turkey (3rd turkey in two months!) and we had all the fixings.

After dinner we watched the San Diego Chargers game. Kristin suggested that I open an early Christmas present.... cute! Matching pajamas for the sisters! (Unfortunately she was unable to find matching PJs for Rich and Michael.)

We are so fortunate to have our family with us this year for the holidays. It's a small group but growing! ;-) (Hi Claudia and Tor and Nadia ... we miss you!) We are going to Tim and e's for dinner tomorrow and it will be wonderful to see their Russian twins experience Christmas for the first time in the USA.
And to believe that we are just a month away from becoming M's parents is an amazing feeling.
And Michael has ordered me these cool J Crew boots for Christmas.... Can life get any better?

What an exciting year this will be for you.
Enjoy the family. Merry Christmas!
I found your blog through another IA blogroll.
Congrats!
Let me try again.
Hope you guys had a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. 2008 should be AMAZING for your family!
Those black boot are PERFECT for court in Russia, if you can fit them. I sacrificed the packing space and took my high-heeled black boots -- even walked 20 minutes to court in them -- can't let those judges be thinking they're sending "their" children off to the land of comfortable, unstylish footwear, now, can we! (It didn't get my 10 days waived though! :().
