Last week we received a special package postmarked Indiana from my cousin Tim and his wife Melinda and their two children Lucas and Lilly. We were very excited because Rita's favorite "meat" is kielbasa (the word for sausage in Russian). We waited until Sunday night to open it because both Kristin and Z were over. Z was able to explain who these special family members were to Rita...

Alas, when the package was opened we discovered that it didn't contain forty pounds of sausage but a little girls dream! Melinda put together a really nice homemade "welcome home" card and package, containing a Dora alphabet floor puzzle, Barbie walkie talkies, playing cards, play doh, pajamas...

... and an awesome Barbie! Barbie comes with snorkeling gear and whales; and she changes swimsuits depending on whether she is in hot water, or cool water. Barbie has already gone for a swim in our pool, and has rekindled Rita's desire to take baths. Tonight Michael was able to give Rita his first "tear-free/drama-free" bath!
Thanks Melinda, Tim, Lucas and Lilly! Can't wait to see you guys soon!

Seriously? Kielbasa is a Russian word? Dang. I could have used that knowledge when Peanut was here. (It was really difficult to find anything he would eat.)

Cute pictures of Rita!!

We are soooo glad she loved the package! I seriously cannot take the credit though. It was totally a family gift. We all headed to Target and Tim, Lucas and Lilly helped pick out the presents. (Tim is actually very picky when it comes to gifts and doesn't like half of what I suggest)! So glad the Barbie helps out with baths, that was actually one of the reasons we bought it! Hope the pj's fit and Tim thought the walkie-talkies would be pretty cool. Lucas and Lilly loved making the card and Lucas actually loves to look at your blog and we talk about his new cousin Rita. We are excited to meet her, hopefully this summer! Miss you all!
