On Friday we drove out to the Anza-Borrego Desert to see the wildflowers. It's about a 2.5 hour drive from our home, and interestingly the road we had to take was through the countryside that was consumed by the wildfires last Fall.
After follicking in the fields, we headed back home making a stop in Julian CA. Julian is famous for their homemade pies and apple cider. So of course we had to indulge...

Lovely pics! Reminds me of my earlier home (Hemet) which is not quite so lovely anymore. I've been through Anza-Borrego once, a round trip through Idyllwild and then back toward Hemet.... very very remote. It looks like you timed your trip just right!
