Spring Break
Yesterday... Rita's first haircut

Today ... checking out the seals and big waves at La Jolla Cove

Tonight ... Rita's first sushi
Rita was so excited to go to a "real" restaurant for dinner tonight. She kept saying "I love pizza!" (in Russian) which is funny because she didn't know what pizza was when we first met her in the orphanage. And also funny that she assumed that because we were going out we were going to have pizza.
We really didn't have anything too strange with her (nothing raw). Rita loved the fried calamari, and the shrimp tempura. She tried a couple of the handrolls and the California roll we got and it was too tough for her to chew. We didn't even try the screaming eel roll with her. She was a trooper though, and tried everything we put on her plate. And she was so excited that papa let her have tea (green tea) with her dinner!

You guys look great! (Love the brown tee with the heart. Too cute.)

Did she like the sushi? Most of my second graders love it. Me...not so much. Texture issues. and it's RAW FISH.

Looks like she cleaned her plate! Shes got more guts than me! I hope Lucas will widen his food options soon!

That's awesome - lots of times the new food stuff is not easily ventured territory :-)
