Happy Mother's Day

Wow, my 300th post coincides with Mother's Day. Last year at this time, I was desperately waiting for our referral. If I knew then it would take another six months to receive Rita's profile I would have waited with patience and grace. She's a wonderful daughter and I can't imagine life without her.
I do wish I had something profound to say like so many other adoptive mom bloggers on this day. I definitely feel lucky to be Rita's mom. I have thought about Rita's first mom and definitely hope she is in a good place. Rita has been so sweet lately - from her "I love Mama"s to cuddles and kisses - she definitely has connected with us as her parents. She wants to be with us all of the time and is constantly looking and welcomes our approval and affection.
I feel fortunate to have gone through this process. I wish the best for every other mom out there who has done the same and is waiting.
Since it's Mother's Day you get four pictures of me. Lucky, aren't you? Did you notice that we even dress alike? LOL - pre-arranged for today. But check out our hair color! Didn't my colorist do a good job matching our hair?
All in all, we had a wonderful day today. We all slept in until 9:30AM (Rita's sleeping in our room due to her eye surgery recovery). I received homemade cards from Rita, Thani and Yoshi. And a beautiful necklace from Rita. I'll have to take a photo but it's a gorgeous silver necklace with pearls and rhinestones (Margarita = pearl).

My other gift arrived on Friday. Michael and Rita bought a shelving unit for our hall closet. They installed it when I was at work and organized all of Rita's new toys. My kind of heaven!
We were going to go miniature golfing but we just enjoyed the afternoon at home. All three of us playing on our laptop computers. I'm not sure what Michael was going, but I was researching our trip to Seattle/Portland in June and Rita was putting together puzzles and reading computer books.
Then we went out to a mexican restaurant for dinner.
Mama and her Margarita and her margarita.

Staged photo for the first post-placement report.

Happy Mother's Day!

Love the pp photo. That oughta be a big hit! ;)

You two are starting to look alike. So funny how that happens. Remember before you were matched and you were wondering how they do that? Just magic.

Tim and I were thinking about you last night and said that we should have called or sent a card or something on your first Mothers Day! Glad you enjoyed your day, not sure what it would be like to just all the sudden be a mother of a 6 year old but you have done it amazingly well!
Our day was good (Tim's birthday too). We were actually suppose to go Mini-golfing too but it rained all day...(of course today is sunny). Hope you are well and recovery is going smoothly!

Love the photos. Rita is adorable. Thank you for continuing to keep up with our journey. I'm back at work today, so I should be able to keep up with blogs better now. I was trying to savor every moment at home before I returned to work.

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy First Mother's Day!!! I have I think three of your posts saved in Bloglines for commenting. I'm giving up and wrapping it all up here. (I'm so behind.)

Glad to see Rita's healing well.

Happy belated Mothers Day to one of my most favorite new mothers!

That shelving unit would be my kind of gift, too.

The last pic made me laugh out loud!
