No News Is Good News
Long time no blog. We made it through the week without any calls from the principal, and Rita make it through the week with only a few comments from her teacher. Early in the week, Rita wasn't listening to the teacher very well. (The teacher decided her plan would be to ask Rita politely to join the group and if she doesn't just let her be. When she does this, Rita ends up joining the group soon on her own.) And she spit on a girl on the playground. I know the girl who she spat on - and she is friends with her - and they goof around alot, so I wasn't too worried about that particular incident. (Yes, I think spitting is appalling but we must keep perspective here. LOL)

We received another package from Indiana. This time, no sausages were involved but we were equally stoked to receive this cool Monopoly game and Toy Story DVD from cousins Lucas and Lilly. Game and DVD have already been put to good use.

The rest of the week I've been in all day meetings and working in the evenings. We had our global sales & marketing teams in town to discuss our rest-of-year plans. On Friday afternoon, we had a team building activity - a brewery tour and a trip to the Wild Animal Park. We took a two hour "photo caravan tour" around the park and got to feed the giraffes. Pretty cool despite the cold and rainy weather we had yesterday and are expecting throughout the Memorial Day weekend.

Oh, and Rita told me this morning that I shouldn't eat Sugar Smacks for breakfast because it contains too much sugar. To prove her point, she showed me the nutrition label compared to her cereal. (This is something Michael taught her last week ... she does this with alot of things we talk about.)

Yes, you shouldn't go so long between blogs after a kicked out of school crisis! People start to worry... :)

Funny about the cereal. Kristen's (my 11 year old) school had an in-service last year on healthy breakfast, and ever since then, she's refused to eat sugar cereal and always reads the label for fiber content. Kids these days: gotta keep us sugar eating parents in line!

Glad you liked the gift! We were hoping you didn't have them already! She probably isn't familiar with all the movies but figured it would be fun anyway. Hope you guys are having fun! Wish we could come see you!

glad to hear :-) actually the method the teacher used is pretty typical in dealing with rad kids - change and moving from one thing to another is hard so anything to help the child make the transition easier is grand!

sounds like the team building exercise was a great break from the stress

and Go - Lean from Trader joes is a great cereal ;-)
