So time is just going too fast for us right now! I can't believe it's been another week without a blog post. Honestly, I'm just too darn tired to recap our days.
Lately I've been working in the evenings after Rita goes to bed. Tuesday, I went to see George Michael with "ForeverGMfanKim" - someone I met on Craigslst. She was a great concert partner ... has been into George Michael for over 20 years, and this was the first of four GM shows she is seeing in the next two weeks. She told me about how she has stalked him at various hotels, attended an Oprah (and other talk shows) to see him live, got invited backstage because she had acrylics with GM's face painted on them (and she now has them preserved and still applies clear polish to keep them "fresh") along with her knowledge of all things GM due to her GM fan club membership. I got some good gossip. I just kept shaking my head thinking, I could understand all of this if we were sitting there circa 1988 but it was weird hearing all of these things from a relatively normal (besides all of this GM stuff) 40-year old woman.

In other news - we had a nice Father's Day here. I am typing on my work computer so I can't share the photos. Rita was so excited about her gift. She personally picked out an electronic iced tea maker. We will see just how much we use that gadget but it was fun seeing her so excited about her "surprise". And all day she kept saying to Michael (like when she wanted to go swimming during the US Open television coverage) ... "But papa, I love you. Happy Father's Day!" She really knows how to work it.
She has also learned the word "fragile" and says "Ah man!" alot right now. Her english is amazing and new words are coming out every day. We have officially started to work on spelling. She knows the sounds for all letters and can put them together. Math is also starting to click.
We are now planning out her studies for the summer. Her teacher gave us all of the math and reading/spelling curriculum for this year; and today also sent home a ton of learning packets. We are researching options for getting her some professional teaching this summer to keep her moving forward.
We are leaving for Portland/Seattle in 30 hours!
