Vignettes a la Rita
1. My Happy New Year Plans by Rita (school project)

Here are my plans for the year that's new.

There are lots of things that I want to do!
Ice skating

Here's a place I want to go...
Florida (we are going to Florida for Spring Break)

Here's someone I'd like to know...
Barack Obama

I'd like to try to help someone...
My teacher Mrs. S

I'd like to learn this thing for fun!
Horseback riding

2. Rita's career plans

Lately, Rita's been talking alot about what she wants to be when she is older. Previously, she has told us that she wants to be a doctor. So I've been encouraging that choice ... I was surprised the other day when she told me that she wanted to be an artist. So she explained the following ...

"When I am 30 I will be a doctor. When I am 20 I want to be an artist. When I am 10 I want to be a surfer."

I can live with these plans.

3. What would you do with $100? (school project)

"I what to go shopping with one hundred-dollars I will byw a dog I will take him home. I will have fun with him and I love my dog I have fun with my dog"

4. Letter to papa after breakfast mishap

"Dear papa
I sre I did not no I pat the appls en the gobch I love you so much"

Translated ...

"Dear papa
I am sorry I did not know I put the apples in the garbage I love you so much"

Work has slowed down and life is back to normal. I'll be back to write about the last couple months later this week! Missed ya!

We missed you, too! I think she's very sensible not to limit her career choices. ;> How are the surfing lessons coming? (ha!)

It is fun to see what they are thinking. You will be glad you wrote these down in case she does become a doctor or an artist! Too cute!

So cute! She seems ambitious enough. I think she'll go far!

Glad you're back. Missed you too.

Loved your post. All my boys want to be are ninjas (and they are older than Rita).

We will be in Florida for Spring Break, too. If we are in the same place at the same time, it would be great to see you all again. I will send you an email before then.

That is too funny about Rita's siblings! :) I am also working on my fiance on those same two things. ;) Although it would be human child #1 for us but dog #2. :) Good luck!
